ADELE - Set Fire to the Rain

WELL, WELL, WELL…  Good morning.

Here I sit, half awake, eyes all ablaze, PBS Sprout muted on the “televizzle” because this song has been on repeat for the past half hour.

What can I say about ADELE that hasn’t already been said?  Solid, professionally constructed songs go from ‘good’ to ‘grand’ thanks in equal parts to her one of a kind, rich, alluring voice & honest, dynamic delivery.  I know you’ve probably heard it before, but let me be honest; I can’t get enough of it for the time being, and this record is my little one’s absolute favorite - complete with car ride sing alongs and spontaneous morning dance recitals.

From a song standpoint, this one stands out to me like a rose amongst dandelions.  I’m jealous, actually.  The lyric is strong.  The melody and phrasing is more interesting and entrancing that anything I’ve heard in a while. The emotion and immediacy in her voice is undeniable and inviting.  I love this song.

Anyhow, good morning western world.  Hope this one serves as a pleasant wake up call and a gratifying start to your Sunday.

Ok, time to make scrambled egg sandwiches.
